According to Levin and Kilbourne, “Heavy exposure to media alters the viewer’s perception of social reality in a way that matches the media world.” In the fashion industry, women are continuously portrayed as sexual objects who are weak, submissive and demoralizing. In this project I chose to switch the roles of the men and women in where the women were seen as strong and powerful and the men were the victims. I hope this project helps starts a conversation in how women are perceived in the media and how it can be changed.
